Quick Note Tab is committed to protecting privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when using the website (quicknotetab.com) and the browser extension (collectively, the "Services").

Information We Collect

Information is collected in the following ways:

• Information provided directly: Information shared when contacting support by email.
• Website analytics data: The website uses cookies and analytics technologies that may collect:
  • Page views, referral pages, and interaction events
  • Browser, device, and operating system information
  • Technical log data such as IP address and timestamps
• Browser extension usage analytics: The extension collects product usage events (for example button clicks, mode selections, and feature interactions) and technical metadata (for example extension version, browser type, language, and pseudonymous identifiers) to improve product quality and performance.
• What is not collected from notes:
  • Note content and note text are not sent to PostHog or other analytics providers
  • The extension does not use analytics to read or store what you write in notes

Analytics Providers and Processing Location

• Google Analytics: Used for website traffic analytics.
• Ahrefs Analytics: Used for website traffic analytics.
• PostHog: Used for browser extension usage analytics. Extension events are sent to PostHog Cloud ingestion endpoint https://us.i.posthog.com and processed/stored by PostHog infrastructure.

How We Use Information

The collected information is used for various purposes, including to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
• Respond to comments, questions, and requests
• Analyze usage patterns and trends to better understand and improve the Services
• Monitor stability, reliability, and performance

Browser Extension

The browser extension uses browser storage (including Chrome storage) for notes. Google Analytics is used for the website only and is not used inside the browser extension. Extension usage analytics are collected through PostHog for product improvement. Analytics are limited to usage/interaction events and technical metadata, and do not include note content.

Data Storage

Notes created in the extension are stored in browser storage. Depending on your browser settings, this can include local storage and Chrome Sync.

Website analytics data may be stored by Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics. Extension usage analytics data may be stored by PostHog.

Note content remains in browser storage and is not sent as analytics payload.

Data Sharing

Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the Services (for example Google Analytics, Ahrefs Analytics, and PostHog). Information may also be disclosed if required by law.

User Choices

Cookie preferences can be managed through browser settings. Google Analytics can be opted out of with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. If you have questions about analytics data associated with your usage, contact us using the email below.
